Don’t get caught with paid web links

Increasingly more people have been wondering if they’ve lost search engine traffic from Google because they were selling paid web links. Google has never generally penalized websites for link selling. If detected, normally all Google would do is stop paid web links from a site or pages in a site from passing PageRank. Now things are changing. If you sell links, Google might penalize your site plus drop the PageRank score that shows for it.

Additionally, Google has recently said that some sites that sell links may end up being dropped from its search engine or have penalties attached to prevent them from ranking well.

Many people may question the fairness and correctness of this approach, however:

It’s Google’s search engine. They can say that if you sell links, they might punish you.

Google is not telling people what they should or should not do  with their websites. Google is simply telling people what to do if they are concerned about doing better in Google.

If you do not care about Google the sell all the links that you want.
